Quick Update
I spent the past week getting back to doing programming in the morning. I made progress on my own implementation of a “Gameplay Ability System” for Godot that will hopefully speed up my process of making my Tactics prototype. As of today, I need to program targeting tiles and characters in order to get basic movement and attack commands.
I’m working toward to have alternating turns between player and enemy characters and eventually victory and loss states. Once I get all of that rolling, it’s a matter of implementing as many of my favorite abilities from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance as I can. Air Render, taught by the Kaiser Knucklers, is my favorite.
Send me a reply if you’re working on anything interesting or have reached any key milestones! Otherwise, I’ll look forward to talking to you again soon.
Cheers,
Connor

Bonus reflection
I’m trying a new type of content for this week’s update. I really miss doing podcasts and sometimes I have thoughts during the week that I don’t really know where else to put them. So here’s some thoughts I have on noticing that I have a habit of asking others “do you think I should [insert idea here]” before I try it out myself.
Videos
I didn’t make any videos this week. After seeing the performance of my two latest “Game Study” videos, I’m going back to the drawing board on how I can best present that content in a way that is informative and cuts through a lot of the down time. It’s my opportunity to put what I’m talking about into practice as an experiment! All inspired by “Tiny Experiments: How to Live Freely in a Goal-Obsessed World” by Anne-Laure Le Cunff. If you’re looking for a book to read or listen to, I really enjoyed this one. She has a French accent, but it reminded me of the 4 years of French I took in school.
